Mexico Cameroon Odds & Betting Tips

Day 2 sees Mexico take on Cameroon of the 2014 World Cup. The Group A match happens at 13:00 local time at Estadio das Dunas in Natal, Brazil. Group A is tough and these 2 quality teams will need to avoid a loss otherwise the hill to climb to qualify out of the group might be too steep. These 2 teams will have to endure Brazil and Croatia in their other matches so anything less than a draw will probably end their World Cup campaigns. Both teams have a bit of uncertainty surrounding them going into the tournament as the Mexican strikers have had a bad year while Cameroon haven't been consistent either. Perhaps one of these teams will come out on top and that will give them the confidence and motivation to play better. Mexico has a solid team overall but their strikers are considered world class but haven't had great seasons going into the tournament. Those players are Giovani Dos Santos and Javier Hernandez where Hernandez hasn't had much playing time at Manchester United and perhaps David Moyes had something to do with that. He is a proven striker for his country so there are no reason why these 2 players can't pile on the goals at the World Cup. Cameroon will rely on Samuel Eto'o for goals but he isn't their only threat on their team. estadio das dunas Croatia are consistently a good football nation that has a tendency to make it out of their group for World Cups and European championships too. They have excellent players at all positions and their only issue is missing Simunic who is servicing a lengthy suspension.

Betting Tips

Mexico are the odds on favourite and when you look at their team and their goal scorers they seem like an easier choice to pick. These teams won't be playing for a draw, they both need a win and a draw could prove costly as they will have to face Brazil and Croatia in other matches. Going into the tournament the doubt seems to be placed more on Cameroon than Mexico. The mexican duo of Hernandez and Dos Santos will have more to prove this tournament and these players are expecting to deliver. If Mexico are to make it to the knock out stages of the tournament, it will probably have to come at the expense of Croatia and Cameroon. The odds we like are Mexico to win this game and we think with the way these 2 teams line up that at least 3 goals will be scored and a good correct score prediction and payout would be 2-1 or 3-1 Mexico. Odds for Hernandez or Dos Santos to score are not the most compelling but seem more like a coin toss. We also like Mexico's odds of group qualification but if you pick this, you have to pick Mexico to probably have to beat Croatia in the process. So at least who will win the game? Roxy our World Cup Predicting Dog is calling it a draw between Mexico and Cameroon. There will probably be goals scored in this match so 1-1 or 2-2 seem like possible scores.
